Sovay No Hits Sagemont - Liberty Hits Grand Slam

Austin Sovay threw a five inning complete game no hitter and Andrew Liberty jump started the offense with a third inning grand slam to beat Sagemont School 10-0. The win extended the Eagles streak to four which is their longest win streak of the season. CCA also stays unbeaten at home at 7-0 so far.

Sovay struck out five and his only blemishes were two hit batsmen in two different innings. He was very efficient getting five ground outs and five fly outs while throwing less than sixty pitches.

Ryan Reilly and Nick Kumar each drove in two runs. Abraham Alejandro scored three times. The game was uneventful until the Eagles ripped it open in the third. Alejandro started with a base hit up the middle and advanced to second on a failed pick off attempt. Luke Poirier bunted him over to third where Alejandro slid under an attempted tag. Stephen Barnett walked to load the bases and Liberty hit the first pitch he saw to the road beyond the left field fence for a 4-0 lead.

Two more home games next week; Sheridan Hills on Tuesday and the final district regular season game against Westminster Christian Thursday.
