CCA 13, McArthur 2

The Sons of Mucerino grabbed a 2-0 lead in the top of the first and kept tacking on runs to beat McArthur 13-2 at Westminster Academy Tuesday. Andrew Liberty drove in six runs with a grand slam and a two-run single over the left fielder. Nick Kumar went 2-4, Stephen Barnett cashed in three walks and a hit for four runs. Newcomers Abraham Alejandro and Andrew Gottfried each had a hit.

Senior Austin Sovay was very efficient in three innings work allowing one unearned run. He was helped by a Barnett to Liberty to Luke Poirier relay from the outfield to cut down a run at the plate. Sovay gave up just one hit, walked two and struck out two. He was relieved by Knox Poole for three innings and Alec Berizzi for the final frame.

Next up is the final preseason contest against Northeast Thursday at 7 PM at Westminster,
