Eagles Clinch Top Seed in District

An 8-0 shut out Saturday of district rival Coral Springs Christian sealed the top seed for the Eagles in the district tournament which will be played at CCA.

Seth Natal struck out five, walked one and allowed only two hits over 4/ 2/3 before exiting with arm tenderness. He did not allow many hard hit balls and was in complete command of the Crusader lineup. Chris Walkerow came on to complete the shut out and was equally hard to hit.

Offensively, Anthony Avila delivered three hits and two RBI. Emilio DeSilva continued to set the table and was on base three times. His only out was an RBI sac fly. The game was marred by the fact that there were ten hit batters, though none appeared intentional, and only eight combined hits.

The win is the fourth in a row for CCA - their first four game win streak of the season. The Eagles have now won seven of their last eight and have outscored their opponents 63-19 over that span.

Next up is a make up game against Highlands Christian Monday night, 7 PM at Highlands.
