Eagles 12-1 Over Coral Springs Charter

CCA staked starting pitcher Ryan Lowrey to a 2-0 lead in the top of the first and that's all the senior needed to get past Coral Springs Charter Thursday night. The Eagles added on in the second, fourth and fifth innings by taking advantage of 8 Panther walks and 5 errors to post a 12-1 non conference victory.

Senior Emilio DeSilva extended his streak to 16 consecutive plate appearances in which he reached base safely by hit, walk or hit-by-pitch. He and Tyler Middlebrooks each had two hits including a double off the wall. Dalton DiNatale and Ryan Reilly drove home two each and Anthony Avila was clutch with three RBI.

Lowrey gave up an RBI triple to the second batter and then settled in. A variety of tailing fastballs and nasty sliders kept the Panthers off balance throughout this five inning complete game. Lowrey lowered his ERA to 1.47 and is the team leader in innings pitched. He struck out six, walked two and scattered three hits.

Coach Moose called a "do over" after the Chicago Christian game and began tracking fresh stats. The numbers in the last three games are staggering with an overall team ERA of 0.44. The Eagles have won six of their last seven and are hitting their stride at just the right time.

Two key District 14 games remain including this Saturday at Coral Springs Christian. Game time is 1 PM and the Eagles will arrive with a well rested pitching staff.
