Eagles starter Austin Sovay left the game in the second inning with an apparent elbow problem and the Eagles in a tough fight with Sagemont. Seth Natal took over and threw shutout ball into the seventh inning when Tyler Middlebrooks delivered a two-run double to provide some breathing room. Ryan Lowrey came on in the seventh with the bases loaded to get the last two outs.
The win produced the first winning streak of the season.
Emilio DeSilva and Dalton DiNaltale were both 2 for 4 with a run scored. Eagles improve to 5-3-1 and more importantly, 3-0 in the district. Next up is Highlands Christian on the road Thursday night at 7 PM.
