Calvary Senior pitcher Austin Sovay deserved better as he left the field with a 6-2 lead following five strong innings on Senior Day. But the Panthers of Somerset were not done as they rallied to go ahead in the top oft he seventh for a 7-6 win. The Eagles finish the regular season at 16-7.
Sovay gave up two runs on four hits and struck out seven. Ryan Reilly stayed hot with a double, triple and two runs scored. Stephen Barnett also scored twice for the Eagles.
Next up for CCA is the District Playoffs at Westminster Academy. As the top seed, CCA will face the winner of the game between Highlands Christian and Sagemont Academy.
