CCA Eagles Down NBP Eagles 10-3

CCA put up four runs in both the first and second innings in support of starter Andrew Liberty and cruised to a 10-3 win at North Broward Prep. Ryan Reilly set the tone with a base hit to lead off the game and took second on ball four to Stephen Barnett. The NBP catcher threw down to second and the ball got away allowing Reilly to come all the way around and score. The senior center fielder finished 3-5 with two runs scored, two doubles and an RBI.

Freshman Andrew Gottfried was 4-4 with two RBI. Abraham Alejandro went 2-2 with two runs scored. Barnett scored twice and had a hit as part of a thirteen hit offensive barrage.

Liberty had a four run lead before he took the mound but gave up a lead off homer and a base hit. But he settled down and got out of the inning with no further damage. He got in a rhythm striking out six of seven batters through stretch on the way to his sixth win.

After a tough loss Friday, the Eagles hope to also play well at home Thursday against Somerset in the final regular season game to generate momentum going into the district playoffs.
