Eagles Tame Lions in District Tourney

The Eagles used the long ball to win game one of the District 14 2A playoffs, eliminating Westminster Academy 14-2. Emilio DeSilva hit his first and second homers of the year driving in four runs. Taylor Gushue hit a three run bomb and a ground rule double for four more RBI. Ryan Reilly was 3-3 and scored twice as part of a 13-hit barrage against the Lions.

WA got on the board in the first but DeSilva tied it with a leadoff homer in the bottom of the frame. The Lions went ahead 2-1 and held that margin until CCA went to work in the third. The Eagles tacked on eight runs to provide a cushion for starter Ryan Lowrey. The senior went to 6-0 with a complete game win, striking out seven in five innings.

The win puts CCA in the District final game on Friday against the winner of the Sagemont and Coral Springs Christian game on Wednesday. Game time is 4 PM at CCA.
