Late Rally Propels Eagles, Lowrey

Ryan Lowrey deserved a win for the effort he gave CCA on the mound today and he got it thanks to late inning heroics from his team mates. Tied at 4 in the bottom of the seventh, Stephen Barnett whacked the first offering of the inning into right center for a double. Sacrificed nicely to third by Emilio DeSilva, Barnett was delivered home by a sharp single off the bat of Andrew Liberty for the game winner.

Lowrey never wavered even after allowing three runs in what should have been an easy fourth inning. CCA was again punished for sloppy play which put Pines Charter up 4-2. However, Anthony Avilla lead off the home half of the fourth with a double to center, took third on a throwing error by the catcher and came home on an RBI ground out by Chris Walkerow which cut the deficit to one.

In the sixth, Seth Natal laid claim to the biggest hit of the 2011 season when he crushed a 2-0 offering over the wall in left center to tie the game at 4 apiece and set the stage for the seventh inning rally.

The final game for CCA in Sarasota will feature the Eagles against Cypress Bay at Venice High School. Game time is 2:30 PM.
